May 22 Gift of Life drinking/driving crash simulation at Kentridge High School.

May 30 Gift of Life drinking/driving crash simulation at Kent Meridian High School.

June 2 Washington State Fallen Firefighter Memorial Service. Honoring those who gave their lives for their communities in 2012. The service, held in the State Capital Rotunda, begins at 1:00 pm.

The public is welcome.

June 28 Fire Department Kids' Safety Day at the Museum of Flight. Meet firefighters, sit in fire apparatus, win prizes, and learn valuable fire and life safety tips. 10:00 - 1:00 pm. Free to the public.

July 4 Legal fireworks can be discharged within the City of Kent between 9:00 am and 11:00 pm. The City of Covington and unincorporated King County allow the discharging of legal fireworks between 9:00 am and midnight.

July 12-14 Cornucopia Days. Come visit Safety Street located on Railroad Ave. between Gowe and Meeker Streets. See the latest information on safety from the Kent Police and Fire Departments, win a prize, and see the emergency vehicle displays.

July 20-21 Covington Days. Located in the Kohl's parking lot, the Kent Fire Department will have a safety information booth, activities for kids, and a fire engine on display.

August 6 National Night Out. Join your neighbors as well as the Kent Police and Fire Departments as we work to make our community more safe.

October 15  Fall issue of Emergency Responder mailed out.

October 31 The firefighters of the Kent Fire Department RFA will be out with your little goblins and princesses handing out red flashers that the kids can attach to their costumes. Be safe by being seen!!

November 3 When you change your clock be sure to change the batteries in your smoke alarms and CO detectors. Smoke alarms and CO detectors save lives, but only if they are working properly.

December 2 Toys for Joy program begins. New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at any Kent fire station.
